About this role

Doctronic is seeking a Vertical Sales Lead for Health Plans to manage the entire sales pipeline and relationships for commercial payers, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid managed care organizations, and third-party administrators. Based in New York City with remote flexibility, this hybrid position is ideal for an experienced healthcare sales professional ready to bring pioneering autonomous clinical AI solutions to the enterprise market.

Role Overview

In this full-time role, the professional will own the health plan vertical from end to end, covering the pipeline, relationships, market narrative, and revenue targets. Operating as one of the initial senior sales hires within the enterprise organization, the candidate will report directly to the Chief Business Officer. The role requires close collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer to leverage clinical credibility during client engagements, while dedicating significant effort to educating the market on the capabilities of autonomous clinical AI.

Key Responsibilities

Drive pipeline generation and secure closed contract value for the health plan sector, maintaining a minimum of four opportunities actively in contracting or later stages.
Formulate the payer narrative and buyer persona maps addressing total cost of care, network adequacy, member engagement, quality measures, and value-based performance.
Manage full-cycle deals by sourcing alongside business development, scoping integrations with solutions engineering, and finalizing contracts with the deal desk.
Navigate complex payer procurement and compliance steps, covering security reviews, corporate practice of medicine guidelines, and BAA and DUA negotiations.
Collaborate with the research team and Chief Medical Officer to translate clinical evidence into payer-ready economic cases.
Engage with implementation teams prior to contract signature to guarantee delivery commitments.
Direct vertical product requirements to the enterprise product roadmap while avoiding non-repeatable custom builds.
Support post-launch account growth alongside customer success to drive expansion within existing plans.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience selling directly to health plans, including personally closed multi-year enterprise contracts and quota ownership.
Established relationships with economic buyers at payers, such as chief medical officers, VPs of clinical operations and network, and digital health leaders.
Comprehensive understanding of payer economics including PMPM, risk adjustment, medical loss ratio, capitation, shared savings, and value-based arrangements.
Demonstrated capability in selling clinical credibility over basic product features with strong judgment regarding required evidence.
High comfort level with selling evolving products in developing regulatory categories.
Availability for heavy travel, as enterprise buyers require in-person meetings.
Residency in New York City or a willingness to relocate for this hybrid position.

Nice to Have

Prior experience selling AI, digital health, or virtual care solutions specifically to payers.
Professional background working inside a health plan on the purchasing side.
Knowledge of CMS models and care management programs like ACCESS, APCM, CCM, and TCM.
Experience deploying co-branded or digital front door experiences within a health plan member journey.
Background in early-stage environments, particularly as an initial vertical seller.
