Staff Product Manager, Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
About this role
Defining and driving a multi-year product roadmap for Design for Manufacturability forms the core of daily operations at Xometry, where this staff-level team member unifies human review with artificial intelligence across a global marketplace. Responsibilities include building a single structured record for custom parts orders while partnering closely with data science and engineering to improve 3D geometry analysis and visual language models.
Operating at the intersection of manufacturing, workflow design, and applied machine learning, the product manager oversees order routing and establishes feedback loops that increase record accuracy over time. This high-ownership position requires strong collaboration across engineering, pricing, UX, and executive leadership to scale automated manufacturability checks.
Ideal candidates bring deep experience leading technical products in B2B or marketplace environments and excel at distilling operational complexity into clear narratives. A rigorous, data-driven approach to tracking metrics like sign-off latency and handle time ensures the platform successfully accelerates custom parts production.
What you will do

- Manage the Intelligent DFM Workbench as a single source of truth for order requirements and production data.
- Partner with data science and engineering teams to enhance 3D geometry analysis and visual language models.
- Establish champion and challenger feedback loops to improve record accuracy from every workbench review.
- Track core metrics including handle time, sign-off latency, RMA rate, and regional rework to prioritize roadmap initiatives.
- Collaborate across engineering, UX, sourcing, pricing, and quality departments to align stakeholders and present ROI to executives.
What you need
- Bring over 8 years of product management experience with technical or AI-driven B2B and marketplace products.
- Demonstrate experience owning complex systems of record and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Design policy-driven workflows involving approval routing, tiered sign-off, and escalation logic.
- Maintain comfort operating across regions to uphold a single global design standard despite regional customization pressures.
- Communicate exceptional written and verbal narratives that translate technical complexity for engineers and executives.
- Apply a rigorous, data-driven approach to prioritization, experimentation, and measuring impact on cycle time and quality.
- Possess comfort getting deep into geometry-based feasibility rules.
- Hold a bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
