Role Overview

In this position, the professional manages a mature data platform while simultaneously building and deploying applications and AI agents on Google Cloud. The individual serves as a technical leader, establishing high engineering standards for an AI-assisted codebase and ensuring reliable, secure, and automated workflows for marketing and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

Own and evolve the marketing data platform built on BigQuery and dbt, designing and maintaining scalable ETL and ELT pipelines.
Design, build, and deploy Google Cloud applications and AI agents to automate marketing and product workflows.
Develop AI-powered tools that empower internal teams with self-serve automation capabilities.
Uphold engineering best practices, including Git version control, automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
Manage data security and governance across the platform, enforcing IAM least-privilege access, secret management, and PII handling.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Sales, Data Analysts, and BI specialists to maintain data integrity and solve tooling needs.
Shape the marketing technology and AI platform stack to align with corporate growth strategies.
Assess risks to performance and stability while serving as a subject matter expert in data architecture and AI application engineering.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of data engineering experience with breadth in software or AI application development.
Strong software engineering foundations involving Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows.
Hands-on deployment experience using Google Cloud components, Docker containerization, and Terraform infrastructure-as-code.
Experience building AI and LLM applications using tools like Vertex AI or LangChain, alongside API design with FastAPI.
Expertise in SQL and Python with proven ETL and pipeline development capabilities.
Required experience working with BigQuery, dbt, and data warehouse modeling concepts.
Knowledge of cloud data security, IAM, secret management, and sensitive data handling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with Fivetran and standard marketing software categories such as CMS, CRM, and email marketing tools.
Working knowledge of data visualization platforms like Power BI or Tableau.
Exposure to AWS or Azure environments.
