Role Overview

As a Frontend Software Engineer at Serval, this professional takes on a vital role in shaping the core technology platform. The chosen candidate builds foundational features, establishes architectural standards, and directly influences the long-term success of the product roadmap in a dynamic startup setting.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate directly with the Chief Technology Officer to design and construct brand-new product capabilities from scratch.
Champion exceptional user experiences, utilizing user insights to steer design decisions alongside founding team members.
Establish the underlying system architecture and choose essential technologies for the codebase.
Assist in shipping the first version of the platform and executing the technical and product roadmap.
Define engineering best practices, mentor junior team members, and foster a culture focused on technical excellence.

Requirements

Four or more years of professional experience working as a frontend-focused software engineer.
Proven background in zero-to-one development, having constructed new products or systems entirely from the ground up.
Strong dedication to creating outstanding, user-centric experiences.
Outstanding communication skills alongside a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration.
High comfort level navigating the rapid pace and ambiguity found in fast-growing startup environments.
A formal degree in Computer Science or a closely related engineering discipline.

Nice to Have

Practical exposure to technologies utilized in the technical stack, including TypeScript, React, gRPC, Go, Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform.
Prior early-stage startup work experience.
Experience working on applied artificial intelligence products.
