Role Overview

Tide is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to take ownership of the architecture behind our agentic platform. You will establish the foundational framework enabling artificial intelligence systems to operate securely, reliably, and at scale across the organization. This involves handling orchestration, context, tool execution, safety controls, and evaluation metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Define the architecture for Tide’s agentic platform and guide the design of shared services like context APIs, tool layers, and policy controls.
Partner with product, data, security, and engineering teams to translate use cases into reusable platform capabilities.
Set standards for reliability, safety, scalability, and overall developer experience.
Provide cross-team technical leadership and unblock critical architectural decisions.
Implement intelligent cost-management and routing logic to optimize LLM spend across multiple providers.
Design and construct automated evaluation pipelines to measure agent reasoning accuracy and safety trajectories.

Requirements

Deep experience building platform or infrastructure systems at scale.
Strong judgment across APIs, distributed systems, data, and cloud-native architecture.
Demonstrated track record of leading complex, cross-team technical initiatives.
Experience integrating third-party platforms while maintaining core architectural control.
Comprehensive understanding of reliability, security, and observability.
Background working in highly regulated industries such as fintech or healthtech where safety and compliance are paramount.
