Role Overview

Banyan Software is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to manage the operational excellence of modernized SaaS applications delivered by the Banyan AI Factory. This remote position offers candidates located in the United States or Canada the opportunity to join a team providing round-the-clock coverage for distributed, multi-tenant environments. It is an ideal role for an experienced infrastructure professional who enjoys hands-on problem solving, automation, and ensuring high availability across major cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24x7 coverage and ensure continuous availability of containerized applications.
Manage day-to-day cloud integrations across Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure to maintain secure and performant production systems.
Implement and maintain robust application observability tooling to track performance, monitor availability, and proactively detect degradation.
Develop, test, and execute disaster recovery and business continuity procedures to ensure timely service restoration following disruptions.
Respond to operational events and security incidents affecting SaaS platforms by executing established runbooks and coordinating remediation.
Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code principles and CI/CD pipelines to automate operational environments and reduce toil.
Design and operate AI agents that automate site reliability engineering tasks and accelerate incident response and triage.

Requirements

Possess 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in site reliability engineering or software engineering focused on operating distributed systems.
Demonstrate deep expertise in automation coding using Python, JavaScript, or Go, with a strong understanding of scripting principles, APIs, and authentication.
Bring deep expertise in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for supporting resilient distributed systems.
Have hands-on experience using Terraform with modules at scale for Infrastructure-as-Code.
Maintain practical experience operating production workloads on Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
Show a strong history of working with CI/CD platforms like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI and embedding DevSecOps practices.
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with advanced cloud security tools including Wiz, Prisma Cloud, and Checkov.

Salary and Benefits

The expected base salary for United States candidates ranges from USD $145,000 to $170,000, while candidates based in Canada can expect a base salary ranging from CAD $120,000 to $145,000. Additional compensation may include annual bonuses and equity when applicable, with exact figures determined by location, market conditions, skills, and experience.
