You will spend your time embedding directly with internal business functions like operations, finance, human resources, and legal to understand their daily systems, key performance indicators, and operational pain points. Once integrated, you prototype and ship custom artificial intelligence applications using large language models, retrieval systems, and agentic workflows to automate reporting, forecast demand, and streamline repetitive tasks. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you evaluate whether to buy an existing tool or build a bespoke solution yourself, translating ambiguous business needs into clear technical requirements.

What you will do
- Embed directly within internal business units to learn existing systems, performance metrics, and operational bottlenecks.
- Identify high-value opportunities for artificial intelligence integration across functions and sequence them by impact, effort, and risk.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into working prototypes and scale them into robust production solutions.
- Build artificial intelligence-native applications leveraging large language models, retrieval systems, and agentic workflows.
- Determine whether to build internal tools or purchase existing solutions by evaluating technical and financial trade-offs.
- Define return on investment cases and communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Drive user adoption, train teams, and measure real post-launch impact while sharing insights across the wider technology strategy group.
What you need
- Six to ten years of professional experience spanning software engineering, analytics, strategy, finance, or product, with at least three years hands-on in artificial intelligence.
- Bachelor degree in a quantitative, business, or technical field.
- Demonstrated experience shipping production artificial intelligence tools, including large language model applications, retrieval systems, or agentic workflows.
- Hands-on experience building with automation platforms such as n8n alongside designing and shipping bespoke applications on Amazon Web Services.
- Solid software engineering practices including code management in GitHub with reviewed pull requests, proper secrets handling, and infrastructure as code.
- Strong Structured Query Language skills, data modeling instincts, command of Excel, and working knowledge of modern business intelligence tools.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen to build credible business cases for technical initiatives.

The expected base salary ranges from CAD $145,000 to $170,000, excluding annual bonus and equity when applicable.
