Role Overview

The AI/ML Engineering group at ClickHouse builds end-to-end artificial intelligence products like the Agentic Data Stack, AI Functions, chDB, and the in-Console copilot. Engineers in this position design, build, and operate software that connects database capabilities with modern machine learning systems and user interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement AI-driven features spanning full stack systems, from backend inference services to frontend user interfaces in the ClickHouse Cloud platform.
Build robust and scalable APIs connecting database functionality with internal and external machine learning services.
Maintain integrations with popular tools and frameworks across the broader artificial intelligence ecosystem.
Put models into production with proper versioning, monitoring, observability, and evaluation.
Take part in daytime oncall rotations with team members.
Create responsive and intuitive user interfaces that simplify complex machine learning functionalities for users.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of software engineering experience in production settings.
Practical exposure to working directly with artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
Backend engineering background using TypeScript or Python, emphasizing service architecture and API design.
Ability to drive features independently from concept to production with minimal supervision.
Strong frontend skills utilizing React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Nice to Have

Experience integrating and deploying models into production using vector databases and inference APIs.
Familiarity with cloud providers such as GCP, Azure, or AWS, specifically for machine learning deployments.
Understanding of data processing pipelines and database systems, with prior ClickHouse background being a distinct plus.
Experience constructing data-oriented visualizations and interfaces.
