Role Overview

ClickHouse requires a Senior Software Engineer to lead the creation of artificial intelligence and machine learning features within the ClickHouse Cloud platform. The professional chosen for this position connects high-performance database technology with artificial intelligence capabilities, delivering end-to-end solutions ranging from inference layers to user interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop full-stack artificial intelligence features, spanning backend inference services and frontend interfaces inside the ClickHouse Cloud platform.
Build scalable and robust APIs linking database functions with modern machine learning inference systems and internal or external artificial intelligence services.
Construct responsive and clear user interfaces that provide access to complex artificial intelligence functionalities for users of varying technical skill levels.
Maintain and implement integrations with standard artificial intelligence and machine learning ecosystems to ensure smooth compatibility with popular tools and frameworks.
Deploy models into production systems alongside appropriate versioning, monitoring, observability, and evaluation practices.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of software engineering experience working in production environments.
Direct exposure to artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
Solid frontend capabilities utilizing TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
Backend development background in TypeScript or Python emphasizing service architecture and API design.
Ability to maintain high ownership and guide features from concept through production with limited supervision.
Strong collaboration skills for communicating technical ideas to diverse stakeholders.

Nice to Have

Background constructing data-focused visualizations and interfaces.
Practical involvement deploying and integrating artificial intelligence models in production, including vector databases and inference APIs.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or Amazon Web Services, specifically regarding machine learning deployment.
Familiarity with data processing pipelines and database systems, with specific knowledge of ClickHouse considered beneficial.
