The Senior Software Engineer - Python & AI position at Nearform is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Canada for professionals authorized to work without sponsorship. Key Responsibilities
The person in this role will design and build software applications primarily using Python while working closely with clients to translate complex business requirements into innovative digital products. Responsibilities include supporting component design, development, and maintenance while taking personal responsibility for technical quality standards. The engineer will assist with defining structured practices for source code management, building, and deployment, as well as designing and implementing data storage solutions. Additional duties involve optimising application performance for maximum speed and scalability, gathering user and client feedback to build targeted solutions, and assisting with client requirement analysis. The engineer will also work alongside technical leaders to ensure timely project execution and collaborate directly with client teams.
Requirements
Candidates must possess significant experience delivering at a senior level, typically translating to at least eight years of commercial experience. Applicants need deep knowledge of the Python language, modern AI frameworks, and AI application development including agentic frameworks and platforms like LangGraph and Agentspace. Practical experience delivering within an agile environment, developing real-world solutions, and utilizing version control tools such as Git is required. Additional requirements include testing experience across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels, practical background working with databases and cloud environments, familiarity with automation, CI, and CD, and experience building software through pull requests and code reviews. Strong communication, collaboration skills, and professional proficiency in English are essential. Please note that travel to U.S. client sites is required, with expenses covered by the company, and visa sponsorship is unavailable.
Nice to Have
Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience working with Golang, frontend experience using React, and a deep understanding of Kubernetes.

Salary and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is 150,000 to 175,000 CAD, supplemented by an annual company bonus based on profit sharing and company performance. Employees receive a flexible remote working culture and an annual paid time off package of 21 days plus public holidays, alongside sick leave and marriage leave. Additional perks include a remote working allowance of up to €1250 equivalent in CAD every two years for workspace setup, a training and development allowance, private healthcare, RRSP matching up to 4%, and life and critical illness insurance.
