Role Overview

Flexport is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Applied AI to join the team in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to design and launch autonomous AI agents that transform global supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design and ship end-to-end AI agents handling customs compliance, exception management, and document processing.
Cross organizational boundaries to align stakeholders, understand deep logistical problems, and execute solutions quickly.
Move rapidly from initial idea to production deployment, treating each release as a chance to learn.
Collaborate directly with domain experts, operators, and leadership to turn ambiguous challenges into shippable applications.

Requirements

Bring at least 5 years of software engineering experience with extensive building using large language models.
Possess strong product instincts to identify valuable features beyond standard execution.
Demonstrate deep LLM fluency including RAG, agent patterns, prompt engineering, tool use, and evaluation.
Own features end-to-end with full-stack capability in Next.js and TypeScript.
Exhibit entrepreneurial drive, excellent communication skills, and an appetite for measurable impact.

Nice to Have

Background in workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal.
Experience in developing internal tools or operator-facing software applications.
