Role Overview

Vic.ai is hiring a Senior Product Engineer to develop and scale the core services behind a treasury platform handling billions in transaction volume. The position centers on agent-driven spend, including AI agents that manage corporate travel and expenses alongside payment card infrastructure. The chosen engineer collaborates directly with company founders on product direction while working alongside a compact, senior group spanning treasury, product, and data or AI teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and operate Elixir and Phoenix services, encompassing APIs, data pipelines, and asynchronous processing.
Take full ownership of features from initial product framing through to the front-end implementation required for shipping.
Maintain high reliability standards for Tier 0 and Tier 1 systems utilizing observability, monitoring, and operational discipline.
Utilize AI-assisted tools, specifically Claude Code, while helping shape overall architecture, engineering practices, and code reviews.

Requirements

Located in the United States and available to work EST hours to coordinate with the treasury team.
At least 5 years of professional software development experience, featuring robust production use of Elixir and Phoenix.
Ability to ship features end-to-end without handoffs, covering everything from product framing to front-end code.
Strong foundational knowledge in distributed systems, concurrency, and async processing.
Proficient in PostgreSQL alongside hands-on capability with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Demonstrated and fluent day-to-day use of AI coding assistants, particularly Claude Code.
Clear communication skills in English across both technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to Have

Experience with Python or alternative backend languages.
Background in payments, fintech, or treasury domains.
Familiarity with event-driven architectures, workflow orchestration, and message queues.
Exposure to artificial intelligence or machine learning-powered products.
