Role Overview

In this position, the engineer operates within a centralized, specialized team acting as the product owner for machine learning platform capabilities. The professional collaborates closely with product and engineering groups across the organization to identify, construct, and support traditional machine learning and hybrid ML/LLM solutions. Responsibilities include building robust infrastructure that enables various internal teams to develop, deploy, and scale machine learning applications safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with product and engineering units to convert machine learning requirements into dependable, reusable platform features.
Architect and construct scalable data and ML pipelines supporting model training, evaluation, deployment, and serving.
Establish and maintain MLOps workflows and tooling, encompassing model CI/CD, feature stores, model registries, and experiment tracking.
Guarantee production reliability, observability, and performance through proactive monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation.
Deploy rigorous security frameworks for the ML platform, such as role-based access control, authentication, audit logging, and compliance tracking.
Connect the platform securely with existing data sources, APIs, and systems while refining infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and scale.
Guide and mentor other engineers while championing reusable platform patterns and industry best practices.

Requirements

Expert-level proficiency in Python and Java, backed by strong software engineering fundamentals.
Proven background in designing and constructing machine learning platforms and MLOps workflows using technologies like MLflow, Ray, Kubeflow, and model-serving frameworks.
Hands-on experience working with cloud environments, primarily Azure, alongside secondary exposure to AWS and GCP.
Practical knowledge of machine learning runtime containerization, orchestration, and optimization utilizing tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
Ability to implement security measures at scale, including multi-factor authentication, network security standards, role-based access control, and compliance monitoring.
Experience refining large model training and inference processes, including LLM serving, to maximize performance and manage costs.

Nice to Have

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Working familiarity with Databricks processing environments, serverless setups, and Azure Machine Learning components.
