Gainsight is hiring a full-time Senior Director, Product Security to lead product security initiatives and report directly to the Chief Security Officer. This hybrid position is based out of the Hyderabad or Bengaluru offices with remote work flexibility, making it an ideal opportunity for an experienced security leader passionate about cloud-native SaaS platforms.

Role Overview

The Senior Director, Product Security will define the overarching product security strategy and drive Secure by Design principles across the software development lifecycle. Reporting to the Chief Security Officer, this hybrid role requires collaborating closely with cross-functional groups including Engineering, Product, and Infrastructure. The person stepping into this position will champion threat modeling, application security, and security architecture reviews while helping shape the AI-driven future of customer success.

Key Responsibilities

Mature the application security program by guiding security architecture reviews and threat modeling.
Increase test coverage by monitoring active repositories, microservices, and endpoints using SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning tools.
Manage the ratio of builds that are automatically blocked from deployment due to high-severity policy violations by overseeing security gates.
Lead and manage a global team of product security engineers, providing mentorship and direction.
Travel occasionally (up to 10-25%) for company events, team meetings, or training sessions.

Requirements

Bring 15+ years of total professional experience spanning Software Engineering, Security Engineering, Application Security, or Product Security.
Include at least 8 years of specific experience leading security organizations.
Demonstrate proven experience in building or scaling Product Security programs within modern SaaS or cloud-native environments.
Possess deep expertise in Secure SDLC, Secure by Design, threat modeling, security architecture, application security, API security, and modern authentication and authorization frameworks.
Show demonstrated success in partnering with Engineering and Product leadership to influence design decisions, architecture, and security strategy.
Understand cloud-native architectures, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, and multi-tenant SaaS platforms thoroughly.
Exhibit experience driving organization-wide vulnerability management and product risk remediation programs.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate technical risk effectively to executive leadership and foster cross-functional alignment.

Nice to Have

Experience securing AI and GenAI-powered products and platforms.
A hands-on software engineering background featuring experience building distributed systems.
Experience implementing security automation within modern CI/CD environments.
Experience leading globally distributed Product Security teams.
Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or GIAC certifications.
