This role suits an experienced software professional eager to shape the architectural direction of generative and agentic artificial intelligence applications from the ground up rather than maintaining legacy systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and continuously evolve the enterprise artificial intelligence platform utilized across 9fin.
Develop scalable artificial intelligence services that support agentic systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, vector searches, embeddings, model serving, and automation.
Create orchestration layers that translate structured and unstructured enterprise information into reusable technological capabilities.
Build production-ready applications leveraging modern large language model frameworks and orchestration utilities.
Design reusable platform components for prompt management, artificial intelligence gateways, and evaluation services.
Construct application programming interfaces, software development kits, and developer tools to foster self-service development.
Design secure and scalable deployment pipelines for artificial intelligence models and applications.
Implement monitoring, tracing, evaluation, cost optimization, and production quality measurement for observability.
Collaborate closely with peers and engineering leadership to define robust platform architecture and standards.
Establish engineering best practices centered around testing, governance, and responsible artificial intelligence deployment.
Requirements
Minimum of five years of software engineering experience, including at least two years focused on artificial intelligence or machine learning platforms and generative applications.
Hands-on background building applications powered by large language models, Model Context Protocol, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions.
Strong backend engineering proficiency using Python or TypeScript, with experience designing REST application programming interfaces and event-driven architectures.
Cloud-native development expertise utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and containerized deployments.
Familiarity with operational challenges like latency, reliability, hallucination monitoring, and model quality evaluation.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical direction in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
Experience with artificial intelligence gateways and model routing.
Familiarity with prompt management platforms and evaluation frameworks.
Background using LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy, CrewAI, or comparable orchestration frameworks.
Knowledge of vector databases, semantic retrieval, knowledge graphs, or document understanding systems.
Prior involvement in constructing internal platforms utilized by multiple engineering teams.
