Role Overview

This senior Data Product Management position sits within the Central Data and AI Product team at Paytm in Bengaluru. The professional in this role will own a specific portfolio within the data charter, lead a compact team of product managers and analysts, and collaborate closely with engineering and business stakeholders to ship scalable data products.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, hire, coach, and manage the performance and career development of a small team consisting of 1 to 2 product managers and an analyst.
Drive the complete end-to-end data product development lifecycle, covering discovery, scoping, delivery, adoption, and continuous iteration.
Establish and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap while aligning it with organizational objectives.
Partner collaboratively with consumer teams across business verticals and functions such as growth, risk, and data science.
Collaborate tightly with engineering partners on technical design, sprint planning, prioritisation, and architectural trade-offs.
Manage executive communications, engage with senior stakeholders, and represent the data platform externally.
Utilize agentic development tools on a daily basis to accelerate delivery value.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Product Management.
At least 3 years of experience managing mid-sized teams.
Deep expertise in data modelling, including dimensional modelling, semantic layers, and taxonomy.
Strong command of SQL, data modelling, along with both streaming and batch data processing.
Working knowledge of the technology stack including AWS cloud services, Spark, EMR, EC2, Hive, Trino, and Superset.
Solid understanding of data governance regulations and compliance such as DPDPA.
Hands-on familiarity with agentic tools like Claude Code and Cursor for daily tasks.
Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between consumer teams and platform engineering.

Nice to Have

Prior experience managing complex payments data and stream or batch processing at scale.
Exposure to conversational AI or agentic product analytics.
Experience with Look ML or Look ML-style semantic layers.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
