About this role

This role is for a Product Engineer focused on Infrastructure Development and Delivery at fluidstack. The company is focused on accelerating the deployment of frontier compute infrastructure for AI, aiming to make humanity more free by ensuring AI models align with human values. The team operates with a high degree of autonomy, demanding intense urgency and a commitment to reasoning from first principles. Individuals in this role will be responsible for transforming complex, physical infrastructure processes into scalable software solutions. This involves building systems that automate the delivery of gigawatts of compute and create structured data from site operations.

The core work involves developing software solutions that manage complex scheduling, turn physical sites into structured data records, and automate workflows for change orders and commissioning. Engineers will be expected to take ownership of features end-to-end, operating without needing explicit permission for every action. This position exists to ensure the speed and scale of infrastructure deployment can keep pace with the frontier of AI development.

This role is suited for someone who thrives in an environment that values speed, autonomy, and impact. Ideal candidates are those who enjoy tackling ambiguous, large-scale problems and are comfortable bridging the gap between complex technical systems and real-world operational needs. A person who can develop solutions independently and gain credibility with non-technical stakeholders will perform well in this capacity.

What you will do

  • Build the schedule that manages the portfolio, creating templates and activities tied to materials to manage critical paths.
  • Transform physical sites into structured data by capturing work packages, field entries, and QA inspections as records.
  • Develop workflows to manage change orders, ensuring scope, cost, and schedule impacts are tracked with an approval trail.
  • Ingest building information models directly into the bill of materials with revision tracking.
  • Develop software solutions for shipping commissioning, including automated test procedures and evidence capture.
  • Ensure the design serves as the single source of truth, integrating data across all downstream systems.

What you need

  • Demonstrated experience shipping production code in languages such as Go, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Proven ability to build features utilizing LLM APIs, including those from OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-weight models, and agentic frameworks.
  • Experience working daily with AI coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor, leveraging agents for autonomous tasks.
  • A track record of identifying problems, designing robust solutions, and shipping them without requiring direction.
  • Experience operating under tight deadlines while establishing foundational elements for future development.
  • Credibility gained from interacting with individuals involved in physical infrastructure, such as construction leads or field engineers.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive the adoption of software solutions within real operational deadlines.
