Banyan Software is seeking a Manager of Applied AI Products for its Medicat department in the United States. This player/coach position suits a hands-on technical expert who will personally design, build, and ship AI capabilities while shaping product strategy.

Role Overview

This position functions as a hybrid player/coach role where candidates personally write production-quality code and define architectural calls while influencing strategy alongside product leadership. Working closely with the MedicatOne Product Manager, CTPO, and key clients, the professional in this role will guide AI feature development from prototype to production. Candidates must possess deep fluency in clinical workflows, healthcare data standards, and compliance constraints tied to protected health information.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the MedicatOne Product Manager to shape the AI product roadmap and translate provider pain points into well-scoped AI proposals.
Engage directly with strategic clients, health center directors, and clinicians to run discovery sessions and validate product direction.
Personally design, build, and deploy production-quality code for LLM integrations, vector search, and RAG pipelines.
Act as an internal resource and governance reviewer for non-engineering teams building AI-assisted tools, ensuring reliability and HIPAA compliance.
Establish evaluation frameworks for AI feature performance, clinical utility, and adoption rates.

Requirements

Must currently reside in the United States and be authorized to work without visa sponsorship.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in product engineering, technical product management, or a hands-on hybrid role within B2B SaaS.
At least 3 years of direct experience personally building AI or machine learning-powered features in production.
Substantive healthcare IT background with working knowledge of healthcare data standards like HL7 v2, FHIR (R4 preferred), and CCD/CCDA.
Direct experience navigating HIPAA compliance, PHI handling, and privacy constraints in regulated healthcare environments.
Active technical proficiency with LLM API integrations, vector databases, embedding models, and data modeling using SQL.

Salary and Benefits

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $145,000 USD, excluding an annual bonus where applicable. Compensation is determined by market conditions, location, and relevant skills and experience.
