Gainsight is hiring a full-time Lead Security Operations Engineer to join the Security team based in Wrocław, Poland. This hybrid role is designed for an experienced professional ready to shape cloud-first security operations, mentor analysts, and direct major incident responses.

Role Overview

This position reports to the Senior Manager, AI Response and Threat and focuses on advancing the security operations program. The professional in this role will own detection strategies, guide high-severity incident responses, and collaborate closely with DevOps, Engineering, and IT departments. Occasional travel of up to 10-20% may be required for company events, team meetings, or training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

Manage complex or high-severity security incidents from initial triage to containment, remediation, and post-incident review.
Conduct hands-on host, network, and memory forensics while delivering clear reporting for both technical and executive stakeholders.
Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering to integrate security controls directly into infrastructure, system design, and CI/CD pipelines.
Evaluate, select, and integrate security tools such as SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and cloud-native solutions to maximize coverage.
Mentor and develop the technical depth and independence of analysts and engineers on the team.
Translate technical metrics and findings into clear insights for leadership and customers during active events.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in security operations covering triage, detection engineering, and incident response.
Demonstrated background in leading or mentoring a team through technical coaching and guidance.
Advanced expertise using SIEM, EDR, and SOAR platforms for rule-writing, tuning, and automation.
Solid comprehension of cloud security architecture across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
Proficiency in scripting and automation languages such as Python or PowerShell.
Thorough understanding of attacker tactics, techniques, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
Excellent communication abilities for briefing technical teams and executives alike.

Nice to Have

Practical experience with cloud-native detection and posture management tools including AWS GuardDuty, Azure Sentinel, Wiz, or Prisma Cloud.
Familiarity with container and orchestration security for Kubernetes and Docker.
Exposure to threat intelligence platforms, proactive threat hunting, and Sigma rules.
Background in adversary simulation or purple team exercises like Caldera and Atomic Red Team.
Industry-relevant certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, GCTI, or OSCP.
Knowledge of network segmentation, zero trust principles, and vulnerability management programs.
