About this role

Role Overview

Gainsight is seeking a full-time Lead, Product Security for a hybrid opportunity based out of Hyderabad and Bengaluru, India. This position is suited for an experienced security professional ready to advance product security and customer trust within a cloud-native SaaS ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Help mature the application security program by integrating security practices across the software development lifecycle.
Track and increase test coverage metrics across active repositories, microservices, and endpoints using SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning tools.
Monitor security gates to automatically block builds that violate high-severity policies from deployment.
Act as a technical team lead for a global team.
Drive Secure by Design principles, threat modeling, and security architecture reviews.

Requirements

Bring at least 7 years of professional background spanning Software Engineering, Security Engineering, Application Security, or Product Security.
Demonstrate proven experience in Product Security programs within modern SaaS or cloud-native settings.
Possess deep expertise in Secure SDLC, Secure by Design, threat modeling, security architecture, application security, API security, and modern authentication frameworks.
Show success in collaborating with Product and Engineering leadership to influence security strategy and design decisions.
Understand cloud-native architectures, microservices, Kubernetes, containers, and multi-tenant SaaS environments.
Have experience driving organization-wide vulnerability management and risk remediation programs.
Communicate technical risk clearly to executive leadership and foster cross-functional alignment.

Nice to Have

Background in securing AI or GenAI-powered products and platforms.
Hands-on software engineering experience building distributed systems.
Practical experience implementing security automation inside modern CI/CD pipelines.
Experience managing globally distributed Product Security teams.
Possession of security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or GIAC credentials.
