Retell AI is seeking an Internal Deployed Engineer to build internal AI workflows, automation tools, and agent systems in the San Francisco Bay Area. Role Overview

As an Internal Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with the company founders and cross-functional teams to design and deploy production-grade AI tools. This role operates at the intersection of applied artificial intelligence, software engineering, automation, and business operations to streamline how the company functions internally.

Key Responsibilities

Build HR and recruiting AI systems to extract structured resume signals, develop lead scoring models, and automate candidate screening and personalized outreach.
Automate security and compliance workflows, including contract reviews, customer security questionnaires, and audit processes.
Create operational infrastructure tools for accounts receivable automation, finance email workflows, and automated enterprise customer onboarding.
Execute third-party integrations and platform work by connecting CRM platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, and GoHighLevel using modern LLM models and automation software.
Drive go-to-market engineering and growth automation by building lifecycle engagement systems, targeted website personalization, and large-scale outbound email pipelines.

Requirements

Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Demonstrate strong software engineering fundamentals across backend, full-stack, or systems development.
Exhibit exceptional engineering ability through internships, startup experience, academic research, or meaningful side projects.
Think like a founder with a strong sense of ownership from day one in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

Practical experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, or modern artificial intelligence tooling.
