Role Overview

Retell AI seeks a Deployment Strategist for a customer-facing role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The individual will guide innovative enterprises through the adoption of AI-powered voice agents from discovery to production. Working closely with enterprise executives, operators, and internal teams, the strategist ensures technical delivery and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end customer deployments from discovery through production launch, handling project execution, stakeholder communication, and risk management.
Partner directly with clients to understand business goals and translate requirements into scalable AI-driven workflows.
Act as a subject matter expert in the company platform, voice AI best practices, and LLM prompting techniques.
Design conversational workflows, automation strategies, and deployment architectures.
Build prototypes, validate use cases, and guide clients through implementation tradeoffs.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and operational leaders to identify AI opportunities.
Lead discovery sessions, business process reviews, and strategic planning conversations.
Construct ROI models and business cases quantifying the impact of AI automation.
Collaborate with Sales during pre-sales engagements, solution scoping, and customer presentations.
Coordinate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to resolve deployment blockers.
Communicate project progress, risks, and next steps to technical and non-technical audiences.
Translate customer feedback into product recommendations for the platform.
Create repeatable deployment playbooks, best practices, and frameworks for scaled rollouts.

Requirements

Possess exceptional communication skills to quickly build credibility with executives, operators, and technical teams.
Demonstrate strong product intuition for understanding customer workflows, identifying pain points, and designing scalable solutions.
Balance technical implementation details with business outcomes and strategic thinking.
Thrive in ambiguous environments and enjoy building structure from scratch.
Maintain a strong ownership mentality to drive successful project outcomes.
Manage complex projects efficiently with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Bring background experience in deployment, implementation, solutions consulting, product management, forward deployed engineering, or strategic consulting.
Experience writing requirements, implementation plans, PRDs, or project specifications.
Experience building business cases, performing ROI analysis, or conducting value-based solution scoping.
Comfort in navigating technical conversations and learning new systems.
