Role Overview

As a Deployment Leader, the chosen professional will build and guide the team bridging Serval's product and real-world enterprise environments. This position oversees the integration of the AI platform into complex IT infrastructures to guarantee rapid client value while returning crucial feedback to engineering teams. Starting as a hands-on technical leader who writes code and manages high-stakes pilots, the individual will eventually scale a team of forward-deployed engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Build and direct the Deployed Software Engineering function by establishing its charter, hiring plan, and operational processes.
Manage strategic customer implementations and pilots to ensure fast and reliable value delivery.
Write production-ready code to expand the platform, integrate APIs, and address unique customer obstacles.
Create repeatable onboarding frameworks that transform custom deployments into scalable patterns.
Collaborate with product and engineering groups to turn field discoveries into product roadmap improvements.
Serve as a reliable advisor to IT and security executives regarding automation design and rollout.
Formulate technical strategy for system migrations, integrations, and ongoing account success.
Hire, mentor, and foster a top-tier team of forward-deployed engineers.
Implement metrics and tracking systems to monitor deployment speed, adoption rates, and satisfaction.

Requirements

Possess 7 to 10+ years of software engineering experience.
Bring at least 3 years of experience leading technical or customer-facing teams.
Demonstrate a proven history of scaling software engineering teams within fast-paced SaaS or AI sectors.
Maintain a strong technical background with the ability to write production code, build APIs, and debug distributed systems.
Show direct experience working with enterprise customers on architecture design and integrations.
Exhibit excellent communication abilities to bridge technical and executive stakeholders.
Display a builder's mindset capable of thriving in ambiguous environments and establishing new processes.
Possess deep customer empathy and the capacity to balance immediate needs with long-term platform growth.
Be based in San Francisco or ready to work from the local headquarters five days a week with occasional customer travel.

Prior experience as an early technical or engineering leader at a startup.
