Deployed Engineer, Professional Services (APAC)
About this role
Organizations adopting autonomous agents often struggle to transition experimental prototypes into reliable production systems. LangChain addresses this challenge by deploying engineering specialists to guide enterprise customers through the entire agent development lifecycle. Operating within the Professional Services team, this professional translates ambiguous business workflows into concrete software specifications and builds production-grade solutions alongside client engineers.
Daily responsibilities vary from designing agent architectures and evaluation pipelines to embedding directly within customer organizations for extended delivery periods. Successful candidates bring deep software engineering expertise and practical experience building real artificial intelligence systems. This role suits engineers who enjoy combining client-facing advisory work with hands-on technical execution.
What you will do
- Advise enterprise clients on agent architecture design, evaluation strategies, and production best practices.
- Collaborate directly with customer engineering teams to build solutions across the full agent development lifecycle during outcome-scoped engagements.
- Embed inside client organizations for extended periods to function as a temporary team member and ship agent systems directly.
- Design and implement end-to-end agent architectures, orchestration patterns, evaluation frameworks, custom conversational user interfaces, and production deployments.
- Apply machine learning techniques including post-training, supervised fine-tuning, harness engineering, trace mining, and model selection.
- Articulate complex architectural decisions clearly to technical stakeholders such as engineers, architects, and chief technology officers.
What you need
- Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience featuring deep expertise in Python.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience building and shipping production-grade agent systems.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with client technical stakeholders and defend architectural trade-offs.
- Familiarity with frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Deep Agents, alongside multi-agent patterns and state management.
- Proven experience designing and implementing evaluation methodologies for non-deterministic artificial intelligence systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 20 percent of the time for customer engagements.
Nice to have
- Exposure to dataset curation and post-training techniques like SFT, DPO, and RLHF on open-weight models using tools such as Axolotl, Unsloth, Hugging Face transformers, or TRL.
- Experience with trace mining to drive continuous improvement loops.
