Role Overview

The Deployed Engineer position at LangChain is a full-time, remote-friendly role based out of Houston, Texas, offering a chance to tackle complex applied AI challenges. This position suits an experienced software professional who enjoys collaborating with clients to bring reliable AI agents into production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Partner directly with customer engineering teams to co-design and co-build production-ready AI agents.
Drive technical wins during pre-sales phases by creating proofs-of-concept, addressing technical inquiries, and directing evaluations.
Assist clients in launching and managing agent-driven applications like multi-step workflows, research tools, and conversational systems.
Provide post-sale guidance regarding architecture, best practices, and product roadmap decisions.
Conduct technical workshops, training sessions, and live demonstrations for developer audiences.
Collect field feedback and develop reusable cookbooks, example code, and architectural patterns.
Write upstream code occasionally when it directly enhances client outcomes.
Travel to customer locations up to twenty-five percent of the time.

Requirements

Bring six or more years of background in a technical capacity such as software development, customer engineering, solutions engineering, or product engineering, preferably within a scale-up or startup.
Possess robust fundamentals in JavaScript, Python, and systems design.
Demonstrate experience designing LLM-powered or agent-based applications that go beyond basic API calls, incorporating orchestration, failure handling, and multi-step workflows.
Display comfort in direct customer interactions during architecture reviews, technical evaluations, and proofs-of-concept.
Communicate technical tradeoffs transparently to earn the trust of developer audiences.
Take full ownership of outcomes rather than just giving recommendations.
Exhibit a strong bias toward action and a passion for figuring out solutions dynamically.
Maintain enthusiasm for running operational AI agents in real-world production settings.

Nice to Have

Prior background deploying AI agents into production, specifically utilizing LangGraph, LangChain, or related frameworks.
Familiarity with LLM guardrails, observability, or evaluation tools.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP, alongside containers and basic Kubernetes principles.
Experience shipping and running production software under authentic constraints.
