Role Overview

LangChain is hiring a Deployed Engineer in Charlotte, NC, with remote flexibility to partner directly with customers building and running production-ready AI agents. This hands-on position suits technical professionals with a background in software or solutions engineering who want to solve complex, real-world applied AI challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with customer engineering teams to co-architect and co-build production-grade AI agents and multi-step workflows.
Drive technical wins during pre-sales by designing proofs of concept, leading evaluations, and answering deep technical questions.
Guide customers through the deployment and operation of conversational and research agent applications.
Provide post-sale advisory support on system architecture, best practices, and strategic roadmap decisions.
Deliver technical demos, training sessions, and workshops tailored for developer audiences.
Translate field insights into reusable patterns, example code, and cookbooks while contributing upstream code when necessary.

Requirements

Bring at least three years of relevant technical experience in software engineering, customer engineering, solutions engineering, or product engineering, ideally within a startup or scale-up environment.
Possess strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript alongside solid systems fundamentals.
Demonstrate experience designing LLM-powered applications that go beyond basic API calls, incorporating orchestration, failure handling, and multi-step workflows.
Excel at client-facing interactions during architecture reviews, technical evaluations, and proof-of-concept phases.
Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to build lasting trust with developer audiences.
Maintain high accountability for end-to-end outcomes and possess a strong bias toward action.

Nice to Have

Prior experience deploying AI agents in production environments using LangChain, LangGraph, or related frameworks.
Familiarity with LLM evaluation, observability tools, and safety guardrails.
Hands-on background working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, alongside containers and Kubernetes.
Experience shipping and operating production software under realistic constraints.

Annual On-Target Earnings (OTE) range of $150,000 to $250,000 USD.
