LangChain is hiring a Deployed Engineer in Austin, Texas, offering a remote work setup with up to 25% travel. This full-time role suits an experienced technical professional who wants to partner directly with customers to build and run reliable production-grade AI agents.

Key Responsibilities

Partner directly with customer engineering teams to co-architect and co-build production-ready AI agents.
Lead the technical win during pre-sales by designing proofs of concept, addressing technical questions, and guiding evaluations.
Assist clients in deploying and managing agent-driven applications, including multi-step workflows, research agents, and conversational solutions.
Provide post-sale guidance regarding architecture choices, strategic roadmap decisions, and best practices.
Conduct technical workshops, training sessions, and live demonstrations for developer communities.
Gather insights from the field to develop scalable cookbooks, reusable patterns, and sample code.
Write upstream code occasionally to enhance customer implementation outcomes.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years working in a relevant technical position, such as software engineering, customer engineering, solutions engineering, or product engineering, preferably within a scale-up or startup environment.
Solid fundamentals in Python, JavaScript, and core systems.
Proven background in designing LLM-powered or agent-based applications that go beyond basic API calls, incorporating orchestration, failure management, and multi-step workflows.
Confidence in communicating directly with clients throughout architecture reviews, technical evaluations, and proofs of concept.
Ability to articulate technical trade-offs clearly and establish credibility with developer audiences.
Ownership mentality focused on driving results rather than just offering advice.
Action-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for tackling complex problems independently.
Genuine interest in running live AI agents in production environments rather than experimental demos.

Nice to Have

Practical background in deploying production AI agents using tools like LangChain, LangGraph, or comparable frameworks.
Familiarity with LLM guardrails, observability platforms, or evaluation processes.
Hands-on experience utilizing cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with containers and foundational Kubernetes knowledge.
History of shipping and maintaining production software while managing real-world constraints.
