Role Overview
The Deployed Architect position at LangChain is a remote role based in London that involves partnering directly with enterprise clients to build, deploy, and optimize production-grade AI infrastructure and agent systems. This position suits an experienced technical professional with a background in solutions architecture, customer engineering, or forward-deployed engineering who wants to shape cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Platform Engineering: Design scalable, highly-available infrastructure for AI platform deployments including compute, storage, networking, security, enterprise integration patterns, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm, multi-region high-availability and disaster recovery strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
Agent Engineering & Development: Design multi-agent systems utilizing various patterns, implement agent logic using modern frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph, design comprehensive evaluation frameworks, optimize prompts through A/B testing, and guide deployment and operations.
Customer Engagement & Assessment: Lead technical maturity assessments, collaborate directly with enterprise clients to understand unique requirements, present actionable recommendations, and partner closely with Engagement Managers, Product teams, and Engineering teams.
Requirements
Bring 7+ years of experience in technical, hands-on, customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Deployed Architect, or Forward Deployed Engineer, or possess an unusual background like a former founder with the right skillsets.
Infrastructure and platform expertise with 3+ years of experience designing and deploying production infrastructure on major cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience such as GKE, EKS, or AKS, covering cluster design, autoscaling, and multi-zone deployments.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform and Helm alongside GitOps practices.
Knowledge of database systems, including relational databases and in-memory data stores, featuring high availability, replication, backup strategies, and sizing.
Experience designing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions along with a strong understanding of networking, security principles like SSO, RBAC, TLS, and secrets management, plus observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for both infrastructure and applications.
Agent engineering and development background with 1+ years of experience building production AI and ML applications or agents.
Strong experience utilizing LLM frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph for building agent-based applications.
Experience with state management patterns including short-term and long-term memory, designing and implementing evaluation frameworks for AI applications, and strong prompt engineering skills with optimization and A/B testing experience.
Experience working with vector stores, RAG patterns, knowledge organization, tool integration, API design, and error handling patterns.
Strong software development skills in Python and/or TypeScript.
Demonstrated customer-facing experience with enterprise clients, including conducting technical assessments or infrastructure audits and communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
