Role Overview

PointClickCare is hiring a full-time Junior Software Engineer (SRE) for a remote position or based out of Mississauga. This opportunity is tailored for early-career professionals with zero to two years of experience who want to master modern production systems and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Support the daily operation of essential services managed by the SRE group while monitoring overall service health, performance, and availability.
Participate in guided incident response activities and learn standard on-call practices and operational readiness procedures.
Implement monitoring enhancements, alerts, and dashboards while utilizing logs, metrics, and traces for troubleshooting.
Build scripts and write automation code to remove repetitive tasks and contribute to internal AI-powered operational utilities.
Collaborate with development teams to support reliability, share best practices, and participate in post-incident reviews.

Requirements

Possess zero to two years of professional, internship, or co-op experience.
Hold a degree or diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or have equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrate basic programming or scripting capabilities alongside strong problem-solving talents.
Display a natural curiosity, eagerness to master complex distributed systems, and solid teamwork skills.

Nice to Have

Previous exposure to Azure cloud infrastructure environments.
Familiarity with Kubernetes or containerized application platforms.
Knowledge of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, AppDynamics, or the ELK stack.
A strong interest in artificial intelligence, software automation, and distributed systems.
