Role Overview

The VP of Finance role at Teleport is a senior executive position leading corporate finance, accounting, strategic planning, board reporting, and IPO-readiness for a remote-first organization. This full-time opportunity is tailored for an experienced financial leader who can guide a scaling infrastructure-as-a-service business and partner closely with executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a strategic thought partner to the COO and CEO by providing financial perspectives on market positioning, pricing, competitive strategy, geographic expansion, and capital allocation.
Co-own the long-range strategic plan with executive leadership and lead annual planning and quarterly forecasting cycles.
Oversee all accounting operations, including monthly closes, revenue recognition under ASC 606, financial statement preparation, internal controls, US GAAP compliance, and audit readiness.
Prepare board-level financial packages, investor updates, and management reporting while supporting fundraising, debt financing, and M&A diligence processes.
Partner directly with Sales, Product, Engineering, and People leaders to drive financial accountability and support go-to-market financial planning.
Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing, geographically distributed finance team across FP&A, accounting, and revenue operations.
Drive the selection, implementation, and optimization of financial systems, embedding automation, AI-assisted analysis, and intelligent workflows into finance operations.

Requirements

18+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including significant time as a VP of Finance, CFO, or equivalent senior finance executive.
Proven success at a high-growth B2B cybersecurity, SaaS, or infrastructure technology company in Series D, E, or F stages with over $200 million in ARR.
Strong command of GAAP accounting, SaaS financial metrics, financial controls, and audit processes.
Demonstrated experience supporting a company through key inflection points such as Series C+, late-stage private funding, or IPO preparation.
Outstanding communication skills to present complex financial matters to executive teams, boards, and investors.
Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, geographically distributed finance teams.
Hands-on experience evaluating, selecting, and scaling financial systems like NetSuite, Workday, Adaptive Insights, or comparable platforms.
Ability to be in-person at the headquarters in Oakland, California, a few times a week for collaboration with the executive team.

Nice to Have

CPA, CFA, or MBA from a leading program.
Experience taking a company through late-stage private funding stages and an IPO.
Open-source or developer-tools experience.
