Role Overview

Cloudflare operates a massive global cloud network and requires a dedicated leader to maintain trust among customers, partners, and the broader community. The Vice President, Global Head of Trust and Safety will manage a worldwide team of investigators and engineers handling abuse reports and legal requests. This individual will establish clear policies, implement automated systems, and collaborate with internal departments like Legal, Policy, Security, and Engineering to protect the network.

Key Responsibilities

Design and scale a trust and safety framework tailored for an AI-enabled technological landscape.
Build, lead, and mentor a globally distributed team operating around the clock.
Formulate and enforce clear, fair, and efficient processes for managing legal requests and abuse complaints.
Collaborate with internal engineers to develop automated tools for improved processing efficiency.
Partner with Legal, Policy, and Product teams to create scalable operational guidelines.
Handle sensitive content and emotionally charged escalations with calmness and tact.
Manage online fraud, user trust, and account security concerns.
Represent the organization publicly with the press, government officials, industry groups, and enterprise clients.
Expand transparency reporting initiatives to share valuable insights with the public.

Requirements

15+ years of relevant leadership experience in Trust and Safety, risk management, threat intelligence, fraud, or customer support.
8+ years of experience managing large teams and fostering staff growth.
Direct experience handling law enforcement and legal requests for customer data.
Deep technical knowledge of Internet infrastructure and the broader online service provider ecosystem.
Proven capability in evaluating and resolving sensitive issues under strict time constraints and crisis situations.
Experience utilizing analytics and data to drive practical business strategies.
Background working directly with C-suite executives.
Comprehensive understanding of intermediary liability and law enforcement access frameworks.
Established global network of contacts for solving complex external issues.
Exceptional communication, consensus-building, and prioritization abilities.

Salary and Benefits

Estimated annual salary ranges from $325,000 to $447,000 for San Francisco Bay Area hires, and $311,000 to $427,000 for Washington D.C. based hires.
