About this role

C3 AI is building the C3 Agentic AI Platform, an end-to-end framework that serves as the foundation for enterprise AI applications, generative AI offerings, and the integrated development studio. The technical program manager for release management will own the entire release train for this core platform, guiding shipments from branch cuts and code freeze to general availability and patch lines. Every release managed in this capacity directly impacts dozens of enterprise applications running in production globally.

This is a hands-on technical position where the individual participates directly in branch plans, readiness evidence reviews, defect triage, and deployment windows. Collaboration happens daily with platform engineering, product management, data science, quality engineering, and cloud operations. Ideal candidates possess a strong background in software delivery mechanics, a pragmatic approach to holding a quality bar under pressure, and the ability to drive decisions to closure across cross-functional teams.

What you will do

  • Define release scope, schedules, and cadence for the platform, including release candidates, general availability, and patch lines.
  • Manage the release readiness checklist and review evidence across code quality, security, performance, and migration paths.
  • Lead go/no-go discussions with engineering and product leadership using documented data and recommendations.
  • Serve as the primary contact during deployment windows to handle escalations and execute contingency plans when necessary.
  • Partner with infrastructure teams to reduce manual build and deployment steps and onboard engineering groups onto release tooling.
  • Drive post-release incidents to root cause and run retrospectives to implement process improvements across the organization.

What you need

  • Hold a bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Bring 5 or more years of experience in technical program management, release management, or engineering program ownership for commercial software.
  • Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of software releases, including scope definition, risk management, scheduling, and production deployment.
  • Possess working fluency with modern software delivery mechanics such as CI/CD, branching strategies, test automation, and cloud deployments.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts and underlying technologies.
  • Show a proven track record of establishing processes and ensuring organizational adherence under schedule pressure.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on background in software engineering, quality engineering, or data science
  • Experience releasing an enterprise platform or PaaS consumed by internal teams and external customers
  • Experience with multi-cloud or air-gapped deployment environments and compliance-constrained processes like FedRAMP or SOC 2
  • PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification

Benefits

  • Excellent benefits
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Generous equity plan
