Role Overview

The Staff Software Engineer, QE will own and drive the testing strategy, build automation frameworks, and foster a culture of quality ownership across the engineering organization. Working remotely from India, this individual will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and platform teams to establish test requirements and architect quality infrastructure. The position involves ensuring that large-scale software solutions are shipped reliably and efficiently using modern AI tools and advanced testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the creation of test automation frameworks covering UI, API, and GraphQL layers with an emphasis on speed and reliability.
Design and integrate AI evaluation frameworks to measure the consistency and accuracy of LLM-powered features.
Leverage AI-assisted development utilities like Claude and Cursor to streamline debugging, code generation, and test creation.
Implement performance testing and monitoring solutions while developing custom tools for test coverage and analytics.
Optimize test execution pipelines for rapid feedback within continuous integration and deployment environments.
Drive shift-left testing methodologies and participate in code reviews to prioritize early testability.
Direct root cause analysis for critical software issues and mentor other quality engineers on automation standards.

Requirements

Possess 8 or more years of practical experience in software quality engineering, with at least 2 years functioning at a Staff or Lead level.
Demonstrate deep proficiency in testing TypeScript, JavaScript, and contemporary frontend environments like React.
Bring expert-level familiarity with browser automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium WebDriver.
Show strong competence in unit and component testing tools including Jest, Vitest, or React Testing Library.
Have a proven history of designing and scaling test automation frameworks from scratch.
Understand CI/CD platforms like GitHub Actions or Jenkins and know how to optimize test suites within them.
Possess solid experience validating GraphQL APIs, writing integration tests, and managing schema mocking.
Familiarity with AI and machine learning products, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.

Nice to Have

Experience with performance and load testing utilities like k6, Artillery, or Lighthouse.
Background in visual regression testing tools including Percy, Chromatic, or Playwright visual comparisons.
Familiarity with Allure test reporting platforms or Model Context Protocol servers.
Domain experience in SaaS, fintech, or market intelligence sectors.
