About this role

The AI Builder Experience team at MongoDB builds the front door for the agentic era, helping human developers and coding agents discover, evaluate, and choose the platform. This group focuses on making the database work naturally inside AI-native tools, frameworks, and platforms where software is created.

As a Staff Product Manager for the Partner Platform, the incoming hire will own the products, experiences, and operating models that allow ecosystem partners to build trusted MongoDB integrations. Responsibilities include shaping the Partner API, driving self-serve onboarding, managing enterprise controls, and establishing discovery mechanisms for partner-managed experiences.

Ideal candidates are strategic product leaders and hands-on builders who thrive at the intersection of humans, machines, and partners. This role suits someone capable of turning an ambiguous ecosystem opportunity into a clear vision, executable roadmap, and measurable cross-functional outcomes across engineering, security, and partnerships.

What you will do

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the MongoDB Partner Platform, starting with the Partner API and evolving toward a scalable, self-serve partner experience.
  • Turn partner and customer needs into clear product bets while sequencing near-term delivery against a long-term platform strategy.
  • Build out the next phases of the Partner API, including self-serve onboarding, administrator controls, partner-managed account creation and billing, and partner discovery.
  • Establish a repeatable operating model for partner intake, design-partner engagement, integration support, launch readiness, documentation, and incident response.
  • Partner closely with internal teams such as IAM, billing, security, engineering, design, analytics, product marketing, sales, and technical services.
  • Work directly with strategic AI-native partners and cloud platforms to understand their user base, business models, technical constraints, and adoption levers.
  • Define success metrics that evaluate platform value, such as partner activation, time to first successful integration, integration quality, and end-user adoption.

What you need

  • Bring 8+ years of product management or equivalent experience, including ownership of complex technical products, platforms, APIs, developer tools, ecosystems, or partner integrations.
  • Demonstrate success in taking a product or platform from an ambiguous opportunity through launch, adoption, and continued evolution.
  • Possess deep technical fluency to reason about APIs, authentication, authorization, distributed systems, platform boundaries, data flows, reliability, and security trade-offs.
  • Have experience building products for developers, technical users, AI-native workflows, or platform ecosystems.
  • Show strong partner and customer instincts with the ability to translate external needs into a cohesive product strategy.
  • Display the capacity to navigate complex organizations, align teams without direct authority, and create momentum amidst ambiguous ownership.
  • Maintain strong analytical judgment and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with partner platforms, marketplaces, developer ecosystems, cloud platforms, databases, infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS
  • Experience with OAuth, delegated access, API governance, partner billing, provisioning, or multi-tenant product models
  • Experience with MongoDB, developer tools, application frameworks, or data infrastructure
