Staff Product Manager, AI Builder Experience
About this role
Developing the Partner Platform and guiding partner-managed experiences for MongoDB's AI Builder Experience team forms the core of daily responsibilities. This role bridges human developers, coding agents, and ecosystem partners to ensure MongoDB functions seamlessly within modern AI-native development toolchains. Strategic planning involves scaling the Partner API, shaping self-serve onboarding, and establishing enterprise controls while collaborating closely with engineering, security, billing, and partnership teams.
The position suits an experienced product leader who thrives at the intersection of complex technical systems and ecosystem growth. Success in this position requires balancing enterprise security requirements with the speed needed for AI-native software creation. Candidates should possess a strong background in platform product management and a clear understanding of how both humans and automated agents interact with APIs and data infrastructure.
What you will do
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the MongoDB Partner Platform, starting with the Partner API and evolving toward a scalable self-serve experience.
- Translate partner and customer needs into clear product bets, sequencing near-term delivery against a long-term platform strategy.
- Build the next phases of the Partner API, covering self-serve onboarding, enterprise and administrator controls, and partner-managed account creation and billing.
- Establish a repeatable operating model for partner intake, design-partner engagement, integration support, launch readiness, and documentation.
- Partner deeply with cross-functional teams including IAM, Billing, Security, Engineering, Design, Partnerships, and Sales to align on shared outcomes.
- Work directly with strategic AI-native partners and cloud platforms to understand their users, business models, and technical constraints.
- Define and track metrics that demonstrate platform value, such as partner activation, integration quality, and end-user adoption.
What you need
- Bring 8+ years of product management or equivalent experience owning complex technical products, platforms, APIs, developer tools, or partner integrations.
- Demonstrate success taking a product or platform from ambiguous opportunity through launch, adoption, and continued evolution.
- Possess deep technical fluency regarding APIs, authentication and authorization, distributed systems, platform boundaries, and security trade-offs.
- Show direct experience building products for developers, technical users, AI-native workflows, or platform ecosystems.
- Navigate complex organizations and align teams without direct authority to create momentum when ownership and dependencies are unclear.
- Exhibit strong analytical judgment to define meaningful outcomes even when direct revenue lines are indirect or emerging.
Nice to have
- Experience with partner platforms, marketplaces, developer ecosystems, cloud platforms, databases, infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS
- Experience with OAuth, delegated access, API governance, partner billing, provisioning, or multi-tenant product models
- Experience with MongoDB, developer tools, application frameworks, or data infrastructure
