Staff Product Engineer
About this role
Engineers who thrive on deep customer collaboration, high ambiguity, and heavy production problem-solving will find a natural home in this role. Working directly inside strategic enterprise accounts, this position bridges the gap between Parloa's core agentic platform and the complex, custom integration needs of large-scale corporate clients. You will function as the hands-on engineering leader for specific customer accounts, architecting custom connections, telephony setups, and multi-agent systems that go beyond standard platform capabilities.
This position exists because enterprise deployments require bespoke engineering that raw prototypes and standard configurations cannot satisfy. Working alongside deployment strategists, you will own architecture, production quality, security compliance, and rapid prototyping for clients in sectors like financial services, telecom, and retail. Success in this capacity demands deep technical ownership, resilience under ambiguity, and the ability to turn complex customer requirements into scalable production realities.
What you will do
- Lead the most challenging customer engagements by running complex programs across multiple workstreams.
- Make critical architecture decisions that span both the Parloa platform and the customer's internal infrastructure.
- Build custom systems of record, telephony integrations, state management, and multi-agent orchestration layers.
- Own production quality, security, and data handling standards including PII and access controls for enterprise traffic.
- Debug live technical and model-driven issues to ensure reliability under high-scale conditions.
- Grow enterprise accounts and identify which custom features should be integrated back into the core product.
- Mentor other product engineers and participate in interviewing and hiring processes.
What you need
- Have at least 8 years of professional software development experience delivering production systems end-to-end.
- Demonstrate fluency in TypeScript or Python, or the ability to acquire it quickly.
- Bring 5+ years of experience leading design and architecture for large-scale production systems in enterprise environments.
- Possess experience leading agentic, spec-driven development in production environments.
- Show a proven track record of managing long-term enterprise accounts or running rapid technical experiments.
- Have experience as a mentor or tech lead helping other engineers achieve independence.
- Demonstrate a willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites depending on engagement needs.
- Possess strong spoken and written communication skills in English.

- Experience building or deploying an LLM-powered system used by real users in production
- Hands-on experience with eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, prompt engineering or multi-agent orchestration
- A founder or founding-engineer background
- Forward-deployed, solutions engineering, product engineering or strategic-partner experience at an enterprise software or AI company
- Voice or conversational AI, or contact center, telephony or CCaaS integration
- Experience in regulated industries such as banking, insurance or telecom
