Role Overview

AlphaSense is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to join the Cloud Developer Experience team and help manage the outer loop of software development for roughly 400 distributed engineers. This position blends operational responsibilities with software development in languages like Go and Python. The professional in this role will design production-grade delivery systems, guide engineering practices globally, and champion the integration of AI tools within the software development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Own, manage, and evolve the core CI/CD architecture and developer experience across the organization.
Improve pipeline speed, predictability, and reliability while defining paved paths for product teams to release code safely.
Oversee the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from source code merge to production deployment.
Promote progressive delivery strategies, including canary deployments and automated rollbacks.
Build self-service, observable, and repeatable deployment tooling.
Manage and develop the Internal Developer Portal to enhance the self-service developer experience.
Collaborate closely with Cloud Platform teams on underlying infrastructure.
Integrate AI tooling directly into delivery workflows to boost developer productivity.

Requirements

Extensive background in Platform Engineering or Developer Experience specializing in CI/CD, ideally within companies housing over 200 engineers.
Proven expertise in operating a CI/CD platform at the administrative and architectural level, including configuration, security, and enablement.
Demonstrated capability in designing and scaling delivery systems.
Production-level software development proficiency in Go.
Strong familiarity with cloud-native architectures and Kubernetes platforms.
Enthusiastic about progressive delivery methods like canary releases and automated rollbacks.
Passionate about leveraging artificial intelligence to drive engineering velocity and quality.
Advanced collaboration abilities with a talent for influencing and partnering across distributed teams.

Nice to Have

Prior experience building or maintaining an Internal Developer Portal in a production environment.
Background working inside both Software and Platform Engineering teams.
Genuine interest in security topics, alongside familiarity with RBAC and OAuth frameworks.
