Role Overview

Scale AI is hiring a Staff FullStack Software Engineer for its International Public Sector team located in Doha, Qatar. In this capacity, the professional will work alongside public sector clients to design and construct custom artificial intelligence applications that address significant public sector hurdles. The job entails turning complex mission needs into architectural plans, managing cloud infrastructure, and establishing core platforms that help governments transform their operational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Function as the primary technical strategist for public sector partnerships by translating client needs into architectural roadmaps.
Build foundational frameworks for production-grade artificial intelligence applications that combine user interfaces, backend infrastructure, and AI models.
Manage the evolution of cloud environments to maintain strong security, global scalability, and system reliability.
Direct the creation of core platforms and shared services to address cross-cutting client use cases.
Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to guide the technical roadmap and mentor engineering staff.
Transform field lessons into reusable patterns for the wider engineering team.

Requirements

Hold a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, or possess equivalent industry experience in designing complex distributed systems.
Bring a minimum of 10 years of full-stack engineering expertise utilizing Python, Node.js, and React.
Demonstrate a proven history of designing large-scale architectures on Kubernetes and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Exhibit expert-level ability to oversee production ecosystems while prioritizing system integrity, security, and scalability.
Possess hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting end-to-end solutions in high-security client settings.
Show a strong background in building LLM-driven solutions with strategic foresight.
Act as a self-directed leader who can navigate ambiguity, mentor senior team members, and drive documentation-first workflows.

Nice to Have

Previous startup experience acting as a CTO, founding engineer, or working in a forward-deployed or customer engineer role.
Experience working cross-functionally alongside operations teams.
Proficiency in the Arabic language.
