About this role

This role is ideal for an individual who thrives at the intersection of product strategy, operational efficiency, and technical execution within a fast-moving Generative AI environment. The Product Operations Lead will be central to building and supporting the core processes and platforms that enable Scale AI's frontier AI model development. This position requires a unique capability to bridge the gap between technical teams and operational stakeholders, influencing the product roadmap based on the practical realities of running complex data projects. The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison between Operations and Product, focusing on surfacing operator needs and driving initiatives that improve the entire GenAI workflow.

The core function involves modernizing operational tooling, identifying opportunities for automation via agents, and redesigning workflows to enhance efficiency. This role exists to ensure that the operational side of Scale’s Generative AI business scales effectively alongside the development of frontier models. It is a position for someone who can translate operational friction into concrete engineering solutions and drive high-priority initiatives from conception through to organizational adoption.

Candidates who possess a strong product sense, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners without direct authority will find this role highly suitable. They will be responsible for ensuring that the processes built are practical and actually used by the team.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leads to define success metrics and make data-driven decisions.

What you need

  • Possess four or more years of experience in Product Operations, Technical Program Management, Strategy & Operations, or delivery operations within high-growth technology settings.

  • Proven ability to operate as a cross-functional operator, understanding underlying customer needs and influencing Product, Engineering, and Ops partners effectively.
  • Familiarity with the GenAI data business, including project staffing, execution, and identifying daily operator friction points.
  • A technical background, evidenced by a degree in computer science or STEM, or the ability to perform independent data analytics using SQL or Python.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and translate operational friction into engineering solutions.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset comfortable building 0-to-1 processes and driving workstreams from conception to execution.
