Role Overview

As a Staff AI Software Engineer based in the Madrid Office, you will take ownership of designing, architecting, and delivering end-to-end AI-driven capabilities. You will work autonomously to create, test, and monitor code in production while collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers. By staying ahead of emerging AI trends, you will propose forward-thinking solutions that help teams work smarter and scale efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Own the design, architecture, and end-to-end delivery of AI-driven modules.
Propose creative solutions by staying current with artificial intelligence landscape trends and technologies.
Create, design, develop, test, and monitor code in production reliably and autonomously.
Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to build pragmatic solutions for real-world user challenges.
Collaborate on team solution designs and hold accountability for successful execution.
Gain a deep understanding of business needs to deliver relevant solutions for clients.
Mentor colleagues and promote technical growth within the engineering teams.
Maintain awareness of new architectures and technologies, applying good judgment for potential use.
Participate in an on-call rotation to address critical system issues and maintain continuous reliability.

Requirements

Bring at least 5+ years of professional software development experience focusing on security, scalability, availability, and performance.
Proficient in languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Rails.
Strong knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) with hands-on experience in model integration, prompting, and usage.
Proven understanding and direct practical experience building Agentic AI systems, including deploying AI Agents and MCP prototypes or servers.
Familiarity with AI frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen.
Experience with modern AI architectures, including RAG, vector databases, reranking, and performance optimization.
Strong commitment to code simplicity, quality, performance, and maintainability with the ability to design simple architectures at scale.
Effective and proactive communication skills to collaborate seamlessly across different roles.

Nice to Have

Experience working on frontend applications, with a preference for React.
Production experience using AWS for high-volume and high-availability services.
