Role Overview

OpenAI is hiring a Senior Integrations Engineer to join the Supply Chain Technology team within Enterprise Platform and Technology in San Francisco. The person in this role will design, build, and operate custom applications and integrations that connect the supply chain ecosystem, collaborating closely with Hardware Operations, Application Engineers, Product Managers, and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Establish integration architecture and reusable design patterns across the supply chain technology landscape.
Construct and maintain integrations linking ERP and SCM systems, e-commerce platforms, third-party logistics providers, contract manufacturers, and retailers.
Create workflows, APIs, event-driven services, and batch interfaces using both platform tools and custom code.
Write production Python applications, integration services, reusable connectors, and operational tools with automated tests.
Execute API and EDI partner integrations, covering data mappings, onboarding, end-to-end testing, and transaction reconciliation.
Program Model Context Protocol servers, tools, and plugins to connect AI-enabled applications to supply chain systems securely.
Manage production reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and resolution of synchronization errors or bottlenecks.
Incorporate access controls, auditability, and segregation of duties to satisfy SOX compliance requirements.

Requirements

Ten or more years of professional background in integration development, architecture, and design.
Hands-on familiarity with a minimum of two integration platforms, such as Workato, MuleSoft, or Oracle Integration Cloud.
Proficiency in Python as a primary development language for production applications and integration services.
Background working in high-volume environments like customer-facing e-commerce with knowledge of order management, inventory, and fulfillment.
Knowledge of integration patterns, REST and SOAP services, asynchronous messaging, EDI, and formats like JSON, XML, and CSV.
Experience building or maintaining third-party API integrations, handling OAuth, webhooks, rate limits, and retries.
Familiarity with AWS or Azure alongside supporting technologies like Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
Practice utilizing microservices and containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.

Nice to Have

Background building integrations to and from Oracle Fusion ERP or SCM systems across planning, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics.
Experience developing Model Context Protocol servers, plugins, or agentic automation for enterprise workflows.
Frequent utilization of AI coding tools like Codex alongside disciplined code review and testing practices.
