Role Overview

Assembled is seeking a full-time Software Engineer to join the Workforce Operations team in San Francisco, CA. This position is ideal for a versatile technologist with at least two years of software development experience who thrives in an innovative, zero-to-one product environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop AI agents designed for real-time workforce management by tracking support volume, staffing levels, and performance metrics.
Equip autonomous systems with contextual intelligence by combining live operational metrics, historical trends, customer policies, and core platform capabilities.
Create control and observability interfaces that allow support teams to monitor agent decisions, rationale, and automation triggers.
Scale and refine the core workforce operations product to support reliable, real-time automated workflows.

Requirements

Bring two or more years of professional software product building experience.
Demonstrate a track record of delivering end-to-end products from conception to production while navigating architectural tradeoffs.
Act as a strong generalist capable of moving seamlessly across the technology stack and learning new domains rapidly.
Excel at transforming ambiguity into functional, production-ready software.
Focus heavily on real-world system behavior, including reliability, noisy data handling, and live operational impacts.
Exhibit robust product judgment and meticulous attention to user experience details.

Nice to Have

Background in developing AI-powered products or AI agents, focusing on areas like evaluation, guardrails, tool use, and system trust.
Experience working with data-intensive or real-time systems where data freshness and changing signals are critical.
