Rogo is seeking a full-time Software Engineer for the Financial Data team in New York City to build scalable backend systems that power enterprise financial AI. This role suits an experienced engineer with a passion for capital markets and large-scale data infrastructure.

Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer on the Financial Data team, the successful candidate will work at the core of Rogo's AI platform. This position involves building and maintaining systems that source, integrate, transform, and serve both structured and unstructured financial data at scale. The role requires taking complex requirements and turning them into robust, end-to-end production solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Own critical data infrastructure by designing robust and scalable solutions for ingesting, transforming, and serving financial datasets from conception to production.
Architect cost-effective data processing pipelines that handle millions of documents and data points daily with low latency and high throughput.
Drive data integration by connecting heterogeneous financial datasets, including market data vendors and proprietary sources, into queryable platforms.
Collaborate with the Core AI team to ensure financial data is clean and structured to maximize model performance and retrieval reliability.
Build secure, compliant integrations that handle enterprise customer data with high standards of privacy and reliability.
Elevate team standards through exemplary coding practices, high energy, and a strong sense of ownership.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Five or more years of professional software engineering experience building complex, data-intensive backend systems.
Five or more years of hands-on experience using GCP or an equivalent cloud stack to build and scale production services.
Deep expertise in Python for backend and API systems, alongside proficiency in at least one strongly typed language such as Java, Rust, or C++, with Java serving as a strong plus.
Mastery in designing large-scale distributed systems, including asynchronous patterns, streaming, queuing, caching, and observability.
Strong command of relational databases, SQL, NoSQL, in-memory stores like Redis, and columnar stores such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
Proven experience operating large-scale batch and streaming data pipelines with high reliability and throughput.
At least three years of experience managing or collaborating closely with globally distributed engineering teams.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and influence engineering direction.
Track record of shipping high-quality products autonomously in fast-moving, unstructured environments.
Demonstrated passion for corporate finance, capital markets, and maintaining strict data quality standards.
