Scale AI is hiring a Software Engineer, Enterprise AI to join the Applications Platform Engineering team in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA. This position suits an experienced developer who wants to build and scale cutting-edge enterprise generative AI products in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview

The Software Engineer, Enterprise AI position focuses on expanding the Scale Generative AI Platform (Scale GP), which delivers application programming interfaces for knowledge retrieval, inference, and evaluation. Selected engineers will take ownership of major new product features, tackle complex scalability and reliability challenges, and work across the entire product lifecycle from initial conceptualization through production.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of large new product areas within the enterprise generative AI platform.
Build and maintain features across backend and frontend systems while interacting directly with large language models and machine learning models.
Ship high-velocity, high-quality experiments designed to engage and delight enterprise customers.
Handle tasks spanning the complete product lifecycle, moving from early conceptualization straight through to production deployment.
Multi-task effectively and rapidly master new technologies as the platform evolves.

Requirements

Possess four or more years of full-time engineering experience obtained post-graduation.
Demonstrate proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL.
Bring hands-on experience working with Kubernetes and major cloud computing providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Nice to Have

Experience scaling products within hyper-growth startup environments.
Practical background in tinkering with or productizing large language models, vector databases, and other emerging artificial intelligence technologies.

Salary and Benefits

Base salary range for the New York and San Francisco locations is $179,400 to $224,250 USD.
Eligible for equity-based compensation subject to Board of Director approval.
