Software Engineers on the Applied team own the development of new customer-facing ChatGPT and OpenAI API features and product experiences from end to end. What you will do
- Own the end-to-end development of new customer-facing product experiences and features for ChatGPT and the OpenAI API.
- Engage directly with users to identify their problems and design effective technical solutions.
- Partner with cross-functional colleagues spanning engineering, research, product management, design, and operations.
- Optimize software applications to ensure strong performance in speed and scale.

What you need
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or possess equivalent practical experience.
- Bring 0 to 1 years of professional experience in software engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate proficiency using JavaScript, React, and backend languages such as Python.
- Possess working experience with relational databases including Postgres or MySQL.
- Show a strong interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning without requiring prior direct industry experience.
- Adapt quickly to loosely defined environments that may involve competing priorities and tight deadlines.
