Role Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer - Go-To-Market Data Team position at Cloudflare is an advanced engineering role based in Austin, Texas, focused on building and scaling software and data products that power the company's GTM operations. Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end GTM-facing software and data products, including the data foundations and account intelligence signals.
Design and implement features using Golang, TypeScript, and SQL.
Build and operate production services on Kubernetes and Cloudflare Workers.
Manage the data foundation, including Query Engine, Workflows, and MCP/APIs.
Take charge of projects from design documents and schema changes through implementation, testing, and deployment.
Participate in on-call rotations, handle incident resolutions, and write postmortems to boost reliability.
Utilize AI tools extensively to speed up development, debugging, and everyday operational tasks.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, DevRel, and Growth teams to turn operational challenges into working software.

Requirements

10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of leading complex, organization-wide data initiatives.
Deep expertise in building distributed systems and production infrastructure at scale.
Proficiency in Go and strong working knowledge of TypeScript.
Exceptional capability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces and drive projects autonomously from conception to adoption.
Deep analytical SQL and data modeling experience, with the ability to manage complexity across thousands of tables.
Capability to debug database and query performance issues using profiling tools and source code.

Nice to Have

Previous experience as a Principal Engineer, Staff+ engineer, or technical leader on platform or infrastructure teams.
Background with columnar or OLAP lakehouses like ClickHouse, DuckDB, BigQuery, Snowflake, Iceberg, or Starrocks.
Familiarity with Salesforce data models and CRM/API integrations.
Experience deploying to bare metal and Kubernetes.
Background working with Cloudflare Workers, edge platforms, and analytics-engineering (dbt) workflows.
Previous exposure to SaaS or product-led growth (PLG) GTM motions.
