Key Responsibilities

Define the technical direction for Android and mobile-facing systems to ensure fast, reliable, and secure experiences.
Turn complex mobile-system challenges into durable production architecture utilizing deep Android expertise.
Shape mobile execution practices, covering automation, observability, rollout strategies, and AI-enabled validation.
Create clear mobile-facing system contracts and boundaries to allow systems to evolve smoothly.
Elevate engineering judgment and standards across teams building native product experiences.

Requirements

Deep expertise in modern production Android architecture, with a background in establishing technical standards beyond a single feature team.
Ability to represent mobile platform principles with enough iOS fluency to influence cross-functional architecture.
Experience shaping mobile-facing platform contracts or backend service boundaries.
Capability to read, debug, and contribute to backend systems to unblock mobile outcomes.
Experience designing AI-enabled engineering systems that boost validation and delivery confidence.
Strong release-quality and reliability judgment across production mobile systems.
Proven track record of mentoring engineers and translating complex work into reusable patterns.
Excellent product judgment and communication skills to connect technical choices to customer outcomes.

Nice to Have

Experience building Android experiences across varied form factors such as foldables, wearables, or Android Auto.
Background in enterprise mobile environments involving MDM/EMM, security, compliance, or identity constraints.
Experience shaping mobile design-system foundations and design-to-code workflows, including AI-assisted UI generation.
