Role Overview

HappyRobot is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Full-Stack to design, build, and take end-to-end ownership of significant parts of the product and infrastructure. Engineers in this role work autonomously across the entire stack, partnering closely with founders and team members to shape product direction. The position requires a builder who embraces ambiguity, pays meticulous attention to craftsmanship, and enjoys shipping frequent updates to production based on real user feedback.

Key Responsibilities

Build and manage entire sections of the web application, handling features from user interfaces down to APIs and underlying infrastructure.
Design, implement, and release full-stack features end-to-end.
Optimize and scale voice artificial intelligence infrastructure to enhance latency, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Collaborate directly with founders and colleagues to define and guide product direction.
Push code to production frequently, iterating rapidly based on feedback from actual users.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong generalist profile with excellence on either the front end or back end, plus comfort working across the full stack.
Demonstrated front-end expertise using TypeScript and Next.js, emphasizing performance, user experience, and clean architecture.
Practical back-end experience utilizing Go to construct reliable and scalable systems.
Product-minded perspective with the ability to balance speed, quality, and scale.
