Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will act as a technical leader within your team, owning large features and components across their entire lifecycle from conception to production support. You will combine hands-on development using .NET Core, modern frontend frameworks, and cloud-native technologies with architectural influence. By bringing commercial awareness to every technical decision, you will ensure that engineering solutions balance technical purity with genuine business value and customer impact.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver complex, scalable systems such as multi-service integrations, high-traffic APIs, and data processing pipelines.
Lead technical discussions, establish architectural patterns, and influence component-level choices within team systems.
Drive AI-first ways of working by actively integrating tools like Cursor, Copilot, and Claude Code into daily design, development, and testing workflows.
Partner with product, design, and QA cross-functional teams during story refinement, estimation, and risk assessment sessions.
Champion comprehensive quality practices, including TDD/BDD standards, automated testing, security reviews, and production troubleshooting.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to raise team capabilities and establish code review standards.

Requirements

Professional software development experience spanning 5-7 years.
Strong proficiency in backend development using .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, REST architectures, and distributed systems.
Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems along with data architecture decisions.
Experience with cloud architecture and SaaS on Azure or AWS services.
Containerisation experience using Docker or Kubernetes for production-scale deployments.
Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation/CDK.
Familiarity with CI/CD design, observability tools like DataDog or Application Insights, and application security principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have

Experience working within regulated or complex domains like finance, health, or govtech featuring audit requirements.
Experience designing high-quality AI interactions via prompt engineering, efficient token usage, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Expertise with advanced monitoring and APM strategies using Datadog custom dashboards and alerting.
Expertise with modern UI architecture patterns including micro-frontends, SSR, or SSG.
Knowledge of security compliance requirements such as OAuth2, OIDC, and RBAC alongside event-driven architectures.
Advanced cloud certifications in Azure or AWS.
