Key Responsibilities

Build data generation pipelines, post-training algorithms, and evaluation methods to ensure safety in LLMs that access external resources.
Design and conduct data collection tasks while working alongside human annotators.
Analyze datasets for quality, potential biases, and suitability in training machine learning models.
Train large language models on distributed training infrastructures.
Evaluate and improve the generalizability and robustness of machine learning systems.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional machine learning, data annotation, product, and policy teams.
Present findings and communicate scientific experiments regarding model performance and data collection.

Requirements

Strong statistical skills and experience in evaluating scientific experiments related to model performance.
Extremely strong software engineering skills.
Expertise in designing data collection tasks and working with human annotators.
Experience analyzing datasets for biases, quality, and training suitability.
Hands-on experience with distributed training infrastructures for large language models.
Familiarity with enhancing ML system robustness and generalizability.
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Publication of one or more papers at top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AIStats, MLSys, JMLR, AAAI, Nature, COLING, ACL, or EMNLP.
Requirement of approximately 50% working day overlap with UK/EU timezones.
